Walmart Enters Into Smartphone Payment System With Its Walmart Pay

Now Customers can use “Walmart Pay” on any iOS or Android smartphone at checkout lanes through the walmart app. It will be the first mobile payment system to be used in WalMart stores by customers through their smartphones.


On Last Thursday, Walmart launched its Walmart Pay app, a QR-code based mobile wallet that allows customers to purchase items with their smart-phones at all of the company’s stores. Users just have to access the wallet function within the pre-existing Walmart app and then scan a QR code at the register.

About 22 million customers actively use the Walmart app each month and its ranking among the top three retail apps in the google and apple app stores.

There are three steps to use, walmart pay:
Open, Scan and Done

Open: After visiting any register, open the walmart app and choose walmart pay and activate camera

Scan: During checkout time, simply scan the the code displayed at the register. Walmart pay is now connected.

Done: After scan, you can buy items and checkout, it's done. Now you will get a receipt on your app.
